THE SKY

The color of the sky at night is a special Sarajevo red. It appears when there is no electricity and when the flames from fires reach the sky or when the sky is lit by tracer shells or bullets.

The UNHCR, UNPROFOR, NATO, and the AVACS flew the skies. For a long time the citizens of Sarajevo were trying to figure out the origin of the red dot which was slowly moving among the stars. An UFO or the satellite spies?

For four years the Sarajevo sky was forbidden for civilian flights. The birds flying above Sarajevo are sparrows, pigeons and crows.
