THE VISEGRAD GATE

The city gate located at Vratnik is a part of the former Sarajevo fortification. It is depicted on the Sarajevo city emblem as one of the city's symbols. During the siege it was shelled and a part of its roof was damaged. The blue and white flag which marked it as a monument of culture could not protect it.
