Survival Kit for 21st Century In recent years we have all been witnesses to widespread conflicts and natural disasters affecting every corner of the world. There have been devastating hurricanes, torrential rains, floods, civil unrest, ethnic cleansing, genocide, earthquakes, wild fires and now the Y2K Millennium Bug. Sooner or later, every on of us is going to face and experience harsh reality; and the key to surviving those upcoming tragedies is not in avoiding them, but rather in preparing oneself to face up to them! FAMA projects have explained the Phenomenon of Survival as experienced and developed during the four years of horror within the besieged city of Sarajevo. The Siege has destroyed the old civilization, the one familiar to us, in the course of Intentional violence. In those harsh post-cataclysmic conditions Sarajevans have succeeded to endure 1395 days with severe shortages of food and water, living without electricity, heating and telecommunications under the barrage of shells and sniper fire. But they have endured by relaying on themselves, their imagination, invention, recycling methods and personal strength to survive and defy the terror with humanistic values. Sarajevo teaches how to Survive and invent the new civilization on the remains of the old one. It provides hope for rest of the world while carrying important knowledge for all of us - proven to work in the most impossible conditions. Because one always has to be aware that the: Survival is a Mind Game! |
